India is the world’s seventh-largest country stretching from
the high mountains of the Himalayas to the tropical greenery of Kerala, and
from the sacred Ganges to the sands of the Thar desert. Its more than one
billion inhabitants are divided into two thousand ethnic groups and speak over
200 different languages.
Conform its size and population, India has an almost endless
variety of cultures, landscapes, monuments and places to explore. From the
ancient ruins, fascinating religious structures, exotic cities and diverse
landscape there is an endless collection of tourist attractions in India that
will never cease to awe and fascinate the visitor.
Leh, Jammu & Kashmir
This mountain town in Ladakh is quickly rising to the top of
must-visit lists. Not surprising when you consider the sheer natural beauty of the
place.
The towering Himalayas supply a dramatic backdrop and plenty
of opportunity for adrenaline junkies to get their fix.
Rock climbing, white-water rafting and skiing are all on
offer, and if you're looking for something a little tamer, short trekking
jaunts can be arranged.
Himalaya
Himalaya is a mountain range in Asia, separating the Indian
subcontinent from the Tibetan Plateau. Together, the Himalayan mountain system
is the highest planet, and home to the world's highest peaks, the Eight-thousanders,
which include Mount Everest and K2.
Ajanta caves
The Ajanta Caves in Maharashtra, India 31 rock-cut cave
monuments which date from the 2nd century BC. Including cave paintings and
sculptures are considered works of art from both the Buddhist religion (which
depict the Jataka tales) and the paintings are reminiscent of the paintings of
Sigiriya in Sri Lanka. Cave was built in two phases beginning around 200 BC,
the second group of caves built around 600 AD.
